DIY Holiday Monthly Dry Erase Planner + A Giveaway

DIY Monthly Dry Erase Planner

I’m into dry erase boards these days. I’m not even sure why since they’ve been around for a long while (clearly I am behind the office-supply times).  But ever since I realized you don’t actually have to buy a white office-like dry erase board and can use any picture frame with a glass front I’ve become hooked. So easy!

And functional! I’m into goal planning too. I’ve been mapping out all kinds of ideas I’ve had for this blog, my business plans and future goals. Most of the time I have to write things out to see how they make sense in really life. Do you do that? It helps me so much.

Plus the holidays, you know. Busiest time of the year. Although this doesn’t seem like a holiday project at first, trust me, it will get your organized for the crazy weeks we’re in. December needs a planner right?

When my blog friends challenged me to make something with my Silhouette Portrait cutting machine I was in. This was actually a REAL challenge for me since I’m kind of new to using the machine, I feel like a Silhouette newbie.

I always see people with these amazing Silhouette projects and I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to load my vinyl in. But I can do text at least, so a DIY Holiday Monthly Dry Erase Planner it was.

But this isn’t the only Silhouette project you’ll find here today. There’s TONS of ideas that my blogger friends have created in this monthly Silhouette Challenge so you can see all of those below AND we have a GIVEAWAY for you.

You can enter to win A Silhouette Cameo Machine or a Silhouette Mint Stamp Maker or a $50 Amazon Gift Card. See all the details and entry form at the bottom of this post.

I challenged myself to get more comfortable in using my own machine. In the past I’ve made:

Since creating text is my specialty (ha!) I simply created a few words in the Silhouette software and transferred them onto the glass.

To make something that will really be beneficial to you as a monthly dry erase planner, create categories that fit your life. Here I added ‘Finish’, ‘Fun’, ‘Field.’ These basically stand for things I still have to do this month, the fun celebrate-the-season reminders, and the list of work (filed) action steps I have to do.

In December I can’t help but think of what will be coming for the new year so I added a 2016 header at the bottom with a fun diamond shape. You can use any of the Silhouette shapes, borders and icons. Plus it’s so easy to add a personal touch to your projects this way.

Since this is non-permanent vinyl, you can scrape off the month and put on a new one anytime. And you can change the categories too, depending on what works for you.

I plan to make an even larger one for other project soon. Something like that can be done in a poster frame.

Would you ever use a picture frame as a dry erase board?
