Welcome to my year in review! 2015 has been an amazing and unbelievable 12 months for me and this blog. Every year brings opportunities and memories both in our blogs and life and this one was no exception.
I can’t talk about the highlights of Decor Adventures without mentioning what happened behind my blog in my life. I saw my daughter grow and turn 1 last month. I was selected as a designer in the Buffalo Decorators’s Show House. I participated in lots of fun partnerships with partners and other bloggers. Sadly I lost my mother this year too. I also went back to work after having the baby and have been working on my dissertation for my graduate program. Life is full but I love it.
It’s so fun to look back and see what I accomplished as a blogger, DIYer, mom, business owner and more. Here are my top posts, favorite projects and highlights from 2015.

My Favorite Projects of the Year
The show house closet makeover
I never, EVER thought I’d end up designing a show house space. This opportunity was one of those that kind of came out of the blue, but was so much fun. I got to makeover a large walk-in closet and paint the ceiling black! It was a blast. See the post HERE.
Painting Our Living Room a Medium Gray
Painting a living room is not what you’d think of as the most exciting projects when it comes to home decor, but it made such a huge impact in our home. Many people are afraid to paint a darker color on the walls. Believe me when I tell you to just go for it! This color make all the difference in this space, now the living room is cozy and it just feels right. This is gotham gray by Behr. See the makeover HERE.
Upstairs hallway wide stripe makeover
Just like the living room’s new paint, the makeover I did in the upstairs hallway was a favorite of mine this year. I guess I just love the power of paint. A stripe was also pretty unexpected to do on a wall, but it works so well in the hallway. Plus the bold color (Galapagos by Behr) pulls everything together in a space we’re always moving back and forth through. See the post HERE.
Five Ideas to Decorate Your Home for the Holidays
Although the holidays are only part of the year, this one post was a highlight for me for several reasons. I’d been wanting to give you these tips for the longest time, they have made such a difference for the holiday season! Decorating early in November is sometimes what we deal with as bloggers, because it’s not like you decorate for Christmas just as Halloween is ending, but it reduced the stress in my life SIGNIFICANTLY. I can’t understate it. These ideas to decorate once and leave it up until New Year’s are life changing. See the post HERE and save it for next year for sure.
