Welcome Neighbors and Some Pieces for Sale
Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Hello neighbors! If you are in the local area and visiting my blog for the first time, welcome, I'm so glad you are here. I'd like to thank Council Member Rivera for featuring Decor Adventures in this week's newsletter for residents. My first local press! Thanks again to him and his staff.

If you are in the area this post will be right up your alley but also fun if you're not and just love a good before and after. I recently finished some pieces for the store where I sell items. They have a new web site here and are on Facebook. These are my latest projects.
This French Provincial table was rescued from the curb. I took off the door, and sanded her down.

I painted it the same grey as our dining room and the inside got a fresh pop of Tropical Splash by Behr which was one color I had in my previous apartment's bathroom.

This next project was a new one for me, I've never made anything like this before. I found two hollow core doors on the side of the road one day during a work lunch break. You know the kind that are used on closets. I've seen these made into room screens but since I only had two I decided to paint them. What can you put on a tall thin door, a feather of course!
The one on the left is what they both looked like before I painted one.

This blue is the same as our master closet ceiling, Observatory by Behr in gloss. The feather I did freehand from a picture I saw online.

Now I don't have a before photo of these chalkboards that I made but if you imagine a standard maroon matted generic floral picture with a gold frame left over at a thrift store, you'd be right on.

These are the frames I was painting with Krylon's Brilliant Silver, a favorite color of mine.

And I think my new silver dresser has become a favorite photo spot.
Again, these pieces are for sale here and I'll be taking a deep blue dresser there this weekend if you are local. It looks almost exactly like this one I did for my office. Who doesn't love blue these days?
See you soon!
