My Favorite Projects of 2011

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

I love this time of year when I can look back and see all that I accomplished in my home. Having a blog is an amazing way to keep track of it all and each time I scan through my posts I remember all the fun I had making these things ~ or so I tell myself at the time :-)

In no particular order, here are some of my favorite projects of the year. Complete with before and after pics!
I'd been wanting a small ottoman for a while and took a risk when I made over this one with zebra fabric.

Not afraid of copying the big guns, I made my foyer wall look like a page straight out of the Pottery Barn catalog with some maps and architectural finds. It took me about 5 minutes to do this and it was such a huge bang for the buck considering it was all free.

One of the most decorated and re-decorated items in our house is the homasote bulletin board we made for the foyer. I pretty much change it up every season and it cost around $8.

Another foyer favorite is the sunburst mirror that I made from cedar shims. They are all over blogland and I love seeing how people make them. This was so easy, I'm thinking of making more very soon. Hmm, just where will I put them?

This chair makeover took me quite a while to finish, but it was worth it in the end, don't you think?

I've saved the best for last with our master closet renovation. The before pictures are worth seeing, even though I'm still embarassed to show you them.
Yes this was actually our closet.

In the closet I made a wax paper chandelier, it's definitely one of my favorite projects of the year.

And that's my list, favorite projects of 2011. Any favorites you love? Are there other projects I've done that aren't on the list?
