Sunburst Mirror
Tuesday, May 10, 2011
The other day I ran out to get some items for projects in the works. While in the paint section I asked for some paint sticks and was handed this many.

Hmmm, I thought. I've seen that Centsational Girl make a really fabulous sunburst mirror from these not too long ago. {See I think of you CG in the paint section :-) } But since I'm an immediate satisfaction kind of girl and knew I wasn't going to get more paint sticks out of that store right that very minute I came up with another plan, right on the spot, for my own version of a sunburst mirror with these items.

- Cedar shims for $3
- A beveled mirror for $3 (I didn't know which I'd use yet)
- Paint, a wood base and glue, and a picture hanger which I already had
Some painting, gluing and about 2 days later {for drying time} I had this.

I will certainly show you how I made it in a future post, but let's take a look at my new sunburst mirror! It's been hung in the front foyer.

I'm so glad we finally got something up on that spot in the foyer, it's been empty since we moved in almost a year ago and is what you see first thing upon walking in the door.

I'm loving that we are finally getting things up on the walls.

This project was so easy and cheap! Please come back and I'll show you how simple it is to make.
Do you have a sunburst mirror in your home? Any crafts you've made on the fly? I'd love to see :-)

I love it! It has a great art deco feel - nice job!
Very cool! I love the metallic finish. I wonder if the Home Depot and Lowes stores compare notes. "Did you have some lady in today looking for a bunch of paint sticks?"
LOVE it!
How cool! Definitely going to have to try this out to go with my sunburst clock =) http://ow.ly/4Rqlg
