September's Garage Sale Sunday, a large monthly sale with hundreds of vendors, yielded this candle holder. It was my only purchase and at $8 (down from $10) I couldn't resist it. I love real things, real iron, real wood, you know, substance. So as soon as I saw this I was intrigued. Who else would have this kind of thing in their home?
My plan was to paint it black so after some wire brush scrubbing, a wipe down for loose debris and a coat of gray primer, I sprayed on the black paint and let it dry over night.
And voilia! Here is my new black iron candleholder. Fully functioning with a pumpkin spice candle from Michael's ($2 sale), looking pretty in the living room.
I still might put it in another area, that's the beauty I can move it if I want. Should I put it down here, by the entry stairs?
Let me know where I should keep it, let the voting begin!

I think it looks great by your entry stairs! It just *fits* the look and space you have there... but that's just my 2 cents worth. :)
I agree, I vote stairs
Nice in the living room but it does add a touch of class in the hallway!
LOVE the entryway by the stairs!!!
Thanks all. Looks like the entryway by the stairs wins, and so I moved it over there today!

Glad to see it ended up in the stairs, I was about to vote for there too! What a great find, it looks fantastic painted black and eight bucks what a bargain.
Although a bit late to the vote fest, I definitely looks better on the stairs
